If you are interested in getting a painted portrait of your best friend or loved one in my vivid palette, please contact me so I can create a one of a kind portrait just for you. I specialize in cropped portraits of people and dog portraits but also paint other animals.
I primarily paint single head shots of people and dogs on square panels since compositionally it looks best. Some images will work better on a rectangle shape, such as dogs with tall or long ears. Any size configuration is available above 12”x12”. My portraits are based from digital photographs so if you live in the city of Chicago, I can travel out to you to photograph the portrait at no additional cost. But if you live beyond, I’ll need you to send me some good pictures via e-mail. The quality of the portrait is only as good as the photograph it's taken from, so the picture needs to be a clear, in focus close-up. You can use a digital camera or your iPhone 6 or equivalent. You will need to send 5 to 10 of your favorite photos which I can choose from. For dog portraits this will give me a better idea of what he looks like and what his personality is (silly, serious, goofy, sleepy). Together we will decide what picture to base the portrait on.
The actual painting of the portrait in is based on the medium used of acrylic, oils or oil pastels and the complexity of the painting to determine how long it will take. Once I've finished your portrait I will e-mail you a copy for your approval. The painting will be sent once the painting, sales tax and shipping has been paid in full.
Tips for taking a good photo:
How to Order Your Portrait
Send up to 10 high resolution digital photos via email. Indicate size range you are interested in purchasing. Send photos at actual size to maintain the image quality, the bigger the image the more detail I can see. My paintings are created on gesso board panels with a 1.5” to 2” inch deep frame and are ready to hang. If you wish for a more shallow depth for framing, please let me know in advance and I will use a standard depth of 3/4”.
Price and Payment
Once I know the size of the painting you wish to have created, I will email you a price. I require 75% deposit or full 100% deposit to start the painting. The remaining balance is due prior to delivery. Photos of the final painting will be emailed to you for approval. The remaining payment plus sales tax and shipping and packaging fees are due prior to delivery. Payment can be by check or if in Greater Chicago via Square or Cash.
Painting mailed via UPS
